Leach/RAI Fellowship

E-mail Print PDF

The Leach/RAI Fellowship was established by the Trustees of the Esperanza Trust to honor the memory of the founder of the Trust, Professor Sir Edmund Leach, and further his expressed aim of promoting anthropology.

The Esperanza Trustees have announced that 2010-2011 will be a fallow year for the fellowship programme following the conclusion of the National University of Ireland, Maynooth's turn as host. We expect to issue a call for offers to host the programme shortly, and to resume the Fellowships from 2011-2012.

Previous hosts were Manchester University (1991-1998), Edinburgh University (1999-2002), University of Sussex (2003-2006) and National University of Ireland, Maynooth (2007-2010). In 2002-2003, 2006-2007 and 2010-2011 no fellowship was awarded and the programme was reviewed.
